“Fairy Tail 2018” Episode 14 will be rolling out the complicated and possibly world-ending war between the citizens of Ishgar and the forces of Zeref. As Mavis’ put it, Ishgar is at a huge disadvantage given the powers that bearing down on their nation.
Zeref has now called an execution order on the entire peninsula. As such, he’s gathering 12 of his Spriggans in an attempt to not only eliminate Ishgar’s inhabitants but to acquire the Fairy Heart itself. The Fairy Heart is the anime’s version of the Infinity Stone, containing an endless supply of magic that can be used to continuously fire Etherion. “Fairy Tail 2018” Episode 14 will provide more details as to how exactly is Zeref planning this all-out invasion.
The black wizard previously said that he’s going to be using the entire might of the Alvarez Empire to send a message to other nations who might be thinking of opposing his advance. It would be interesting to see how he’ll manage to control such a massive force, especially since some of his Spriggans aren’t exactly made to follow orders to the letter. Of course, Ishgar will not simply let Zeref trample them, and they’ll be making preparations on their own in “Fairy Tail 2018” Episode 14.
Since Ishgar is facing a huge disparity when it comes to firepower, the best way for Mavis and the Guild to proceed is to conduct small shock forces that will harry the opposing army’s advance. Natsu, Lucy, and the rest of the group could split into multiple parties and lead these shock troops. The 12 Spriggans takes main priority here given the immense magic capabilities that each of them holds. Meanwhile, “Fairy Tail 2018” Episode 14 will probably be featuring Acnologia as well.
It's been seen that the Black Dragon is making his move now and it’s still unclear how he’s going to proceed given that he’s always been portrayed as a mysterious character. His presence in this war makes the conflict all the more complicated. Between Zeref, Mavis, the Fairy Heart, and Acnologia, this imminent conflict will undoubtedly reduce a lot of locations to dust. As for when “Fairy Tail 2018” Episode 14 will air, it’s been slated for release on Jan. 12.

Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine announced that the Fairy Tail sequel manga will begin serialization on July 25! Hiro Mashima; however, will not be the one drawing the manga. That honor will go to Atsuo Ueda. Hiro Mashima is providing the original storyboards in which Ueda will do the artwork. With Mashima already having his hands full with Eden’s Zero, it makes sense that someone else would be handling the artwork for the series.
In addition to beginning in Weekly Shonen Magazine, the manga will also launch on the Magazine Pocket app from Kodansha the very same day. At this time, there isn’t any information on what the story of the sequel manga will entail nor what characters will be returning. Two spinoff mangas are also in the works for the series as Fairy Tail: City Heroes and Fairy Tail: Happy’s Grand Adventure have been previously announced with the latter of the two debuting “soon.” In addition, the final season of the television anime which will adapt the remainder of the original manga is slated to begin airing in Japan this October.
MyAnimeList.net describes the story of Fairy Tail as follows:
In the mystical land of Fiore, magic exists as an essential part of everyday life. Countless magic guilds lie at the core of all magical activity, and serve as venues for like-minded mages to band together and take on job requests. Among them, Fairy Tail stands out from the rest as a place of strength, spirit, and family.
Lucy Heartfilia is a young mage searching for celestial gate keys, and her dream is to become a full-fledged wizard by joining this famous guild. In her search, she runs into Natsu Dragneel and his partner Happy, who are on a quest to find Natsu’s foster father, the dragon Igneel.
Upon being tricked by a man, Lucy falls under an abduction attempt, only to be saved by Natsu. To her shock, he reveals that he is a member of Fairy Tail and invites her to join them. There, Lucy meets the guild’s strange members, such as the ice wizard Gray Fullbuster and magic swordswoman Erza Scarlet. Together as a family, they battle the forces of evil, help those in need, and gain new friends, all the while enjoying the never-ending adventure that is Fairy Tail.

Fairy Tail Season 8 Versus Fairy Tail Season 3: Naming Convention Difference Explained
![]()
In recent years, the naming conventions for Japanese anime seasons have become a bit confusing since the international release sometimes differs greatly in how they are labeled. Earlier in 2017, Netflix confused everyone by labeling The Seven Deadly Sins OVA episodes as the second season, but Netflix eventually fixed that mistake (the second season really was confirmed recently, though). There are other cases where a back-to-back Japanese anime is labeled as having two seasons when internationally released.
When it comes to the Fairy Tail anime, A-1 Pictures, Dentsu, and Satelight broadcast the first season in Japan from 2009 to 2013. The second series started up again about a year later and ended on March 26, 2016. However, the English-language version of Fairy Tail aired for seven seasons from 2010 to 2015.
Mashima says Fairy Tail Season 3 is the final season, but there’s also the possibility that the English sub version may continue to count upward. After all, there are over 100 manga chapters left to adapt, so the third season will probably end with Fairy Tail 2019. That could mean the final English sub season will be labeled as Fairy Tail Season 10 or 11.
As of this time, the anime production committee has not announced anything official about the Fairy Tail Season 3 release date, although this article will be updated as soon as the exact air date is confirmed. However, there can be reasonable speculation about when the Fairy Tail Season 3 premiere date may occur.
The only information released so far is a brief statement from manga creator Hiro Mashimaon his official Twitter account.
“The Final Season of FAIRY TAIL TV anime will go on air in 2018!” tweeted Mashima.
In the past, the first two Fairy Tail seasons opened in October and April. Assuming Mashima just received official word that production on the third season begins soon, that means it’s possible the Fairy Tail Season 3 release date will be in the 2018 winter or spring anime seasons in Japan. Hopefully, the English sub version will be simulcast on video streaming platforms like Crunchyroll and Hulu. It’s uncertain whether the Funimation English dub will follow shortly since the first two seasons were never finished.

How many episodes should we expect from the third season of Fairy Tail? Episode 277, “Message of Fire,” was the last anime episode to be released, and it covered the opening events of the Avatar story arc. The manga ending comes next week with Fairy Tail Chapter 545. That means the third season will cover 125 chapters of the manga. In general, the anime adaptation has a chapter-to-episode ratio of around two-to-one, so it’s likely Fairy TailSeason 3 will have around 50 to 60 episodes.
